Windows 10: Getting error 0x80070091 - an unexpected error occured..

I received the above error message recently every time I try to delete folders with embedded folders and files. I can delete them if I go to the lowest ones in the group and work my way up but that's very slow compared to the way it used to work. I used to delete numerous folders by selecting the uppermost folder and deleting it. All the subfolders would also be deleted. How can I repair this?Thanks -

There are a number of suggestions to troubleshoot this error in the below article:

It suggests trying to rename the folder first, and if you can't do that then run Check Disk and restart Windows Explorer.
