Windows 10: Getting Error when clicking on "Clipboard" in "Settings"

Hello everyone. I'm having issues accessing the clipboard menu in settings.


I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.



I right click on start, select "Settings" then I click on "System" and finally "Clipboard" on the left side and this is the error I get.





I've tried looking this up before posting here and could not find anything. Some people suggested it could be a virus or other malicious software. I know it is defiantly not that so we can skip that part.


I've been making a lot of changes to my computer to try and make it faster. It is going on 10 years old and only has a 1.6 Ghz processor and 4GB of ram. To speed it up I've been modifying Services, Group Policy Editor and making changes to the registry to disable Windows Defender and Cortana.


Somewhere along the line I managed to change something on my computer that resulted in this error popping up and I am hoping someone here knows what it is.


I've been through my services and don't see anything that is stopped or disabled that could explain this error unless I overlooked something.

I would prefer not to use sfc /scannow as I don't want to undo and have to redo any changes I've already made.


Unless turning off Windows Defender Causes this error then I have no idea and could really use some help fixing it.

How can I get rid of the "clipboard" icon on my keyboard?

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community.

You may follow these steps to remove the clipboard icon on your keyboard:

1. Under your App list, go to Settings.

2. Tap keyboard under Settings.

3. Tap the keyboard that you are using.

4. Uncheck the "Suggest text".

5. Try copying something again and paste it.

6. Lock the screen and reopen it, then check the clipboard icon on the keyboard if it's still showing.

Hello,

In Windows 10 build 17666 or later, clipboard is available.

Try these steps

1. Right click Start Button or press Windows + X keys and select Settings.

2. In the Settings app, navigate to System > Clipboard.

3. Under Clipboard, toggle the Save multiple items option to On. This should enable clipboard history on the go.

4. Close Settings app.

You can now press Windows + V keys to view clipboard history.

I just downloaded clipboard to my windows 10 desktop computer. I took a screenshot and opened clipboard but can't figure out how to view it. Is there a step by step tutorial on how to use clipboard? There are only two settings with no directions on how
to use them. I thought if I save something to clipboard it would be there when I opened the app as it was in windows 7 and XP. All I am getting is a black and orange screen with a clipboard in the middle. I don't want to share I just want to open what I've
copied to it.......
