Windows 10: getting icons from the hard drive to my desktop

Hello I had on my laptop a bios error that did not allow me to get to my desktop when I turned on the laptop. The laptop was serviced by replacing the motherboard. Once I received the laptop my company reimaged it. All of my icons on the desktop were no longer there. I was wondering if there is a way to back the desktop to a date in October 2021. Similar to what we do to our cell phones.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Desktop Icons Won't Stay Put

As per the issue description I understand that you are facing issues with desktop icons.

I suggest you try the following step in order to arrange the icons.

• Right click on the desktop.
• Click on view
• Check the option auto arrange icons.

hard drive icon?

Hi, i am trying to change my hard drive icon and have never done it before. I searched and found a little guide but it didnt work. I downloaded an icon from iconarchive.com and so its a single icon in an ico file type.

It opened notepad and typed:

[autorun]

icon=C:\"the file extenstion".ico

and saved it as "C:\autrun.inf"

but this is how it turned out:






can anyone help me with this?
