Windows 10: Getting lags in performance with locked disk %

For awhile now, my laptop has been having these occasional severe spikes in performance lag, where nothing can really be done until it passes. Oddly enough, whenever these happen, I'll check the task manager and the disk usage rate will be locked at 50%. This generally happens shortly after I turn on the laptop, but not exclusively. Any ideas on what is causing this.

It's happened in both Windows 7 and 10 on this laptop.

Thank you for the reply,but your suggestion proved no use to me still the disk usage remains 100 percent and my system lags in performance.

I suspect you have or had Live Lock Screen BETA installed? So follow these steps to get rid of the lag:

* Uninstall Live Lock Screen BETA

* Go to Settings > lock screen and change Background to
Bing

* lock and then unlock your phone

* Go to Settings > lock screen again and change Backgournd to
Photo

That should get rid of the lag. Also; I recommend you wait for the final release of Live Lock Screen.
