    getting lost files from windows 8.1


    My friend had his computer upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. He did tell the computer tech to back up his stuff. He got his computer today with Windows 10. He was told that his files are in his My documents. He looked in all folders and he is missing everything. I tried to help him look in his Windows.old file and i cannot see much, although i was told there might be hidden files. He is beside himself as there was many files he specifically asked not to be lost. How can I help him get his files back? HELP PLZ
