  1. Getting machine out of Windows 10 Pro In S Mode

    Hi guys,

So I'm currently working with some colleagues in New York whilst based in London. We don't have tech support so I'm the best we have. We recently had a new Windows 10 Pro machine ordered for a colleague in NYC, however going through the setup with him we realised the machine was in Windows 10 Pro in S Mode.

Following all the steps of going into the store to 'Switch To Windows 10 Pro' didn't work when the 'Get' button failed to do anything, as if it were not there. Then going through the process of logging into an administrator to run wsreset.exe also did nothing.

I now have a colleague that is only able to use a new $800 machine for basic work as the majority of applications he'll need to use are not on the Microsoft Store. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Alex

    :)

  2. Ahhzz Win User

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
