Windows 10: Getting MicrosoftSecurityApp.exe service not starting error when booting windows

[SOLVED] Error 193: 0xc1 .NET Windows Service

Symptom:
When you install a .NET Windows Service, it says there was no error. Yet, when you go to start the service, you get an "Error 193: 0xc1" message and subsequently, the process refuses to start.

Cause:
The binary you installed as a service is not a "Windows Application."

Solution:
Uninstall the old service, change the project output type to "Windows Application" and build it, install the new binary (should be *.exe), and start the service again.


This is just one example of what can cause the error message.

 

Getting error when starting a service in windows 7

I am getting this Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion .

I want to run a python script as a service in windows 7 . I converted the python(.py) to .exe and then i added that .exe application to the service using sc create "python_service" binPath= "C:\Users\Desktop\win.exe" command but when i am
trying to start that service using services.msc i am getting the error given above.

Can anyone tell me why i am getting this error and how to solve it ?

Do i need to convert the python file to .exe to run that script as a service in windows ?

• You have a faulty or incompatible device driver installed.
• You have a faulty or incompatible program running.

I suggest you to start you system in safe mode and if the issue persist. If in safe mode issue didn’t persist then, perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

Method 1: To start your system in safe mode follow the below steps:

• Press and hold Shift key and restart your Computer.
• Select Troubleshoot.
• Select Advance Option.
• Select Startup Settings.
• Follow the on Screen instruction.

Method 2: Perform clean boot.

A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program.
