  1. Getting various types of BSODs, no idea of source

    Hy everybody,
It is my first time posting and of course I need your help. I am getting seemingly random BSODs all the time. Especially now during online University, as I am using the PC the whole day, it happens more than twice a day. The errors seem to be random, although at the moment store_exception_fault is the most common one.
Most Hardware in my system is 7 years old now, only the RAM has been replaced since and a SAMSUNG EVO 950 250GB SSD have been added. I have been getting Bluescreens for a very long time now, at one point it stopped for a few months or so and then it came back again, which led me to buying a used 16GB RAM kit since i thought this was the culprit. After that it had gotten a bit better but quickly went back to being worse and more frequent again. Most often the BSODs happen during moderate to heavy use with multiple open windows/programs, seldom also in idle. I also often get BSODs while watching any kind of online video content, eg YT, instagram, vimeo etc. Also connecting my 2nd Monitor, which has a lower resolution than my main monitor, inreases the frequence of BSODs. Connecting my main monitor to the onboard graphics and removing the GTX 760 decreases it.
I have already done 1 run of 4 passes in memtest which my system did'nt pass on the 3rd run.
I have also tried to update drivers (but i dont know if I did that correctly) and since the BSODs started 1,5 years ago I have once completely wiped my 2Tb HDD and reinstalled windows and at another time installed/or transferred ( i dont know anymore) Windows to the SSD, during the course of which I removed windows from the HDD.
I have checked drive health with crystal discmark which stated that my drives where "Good" and also stress tested the GPU with Furmark which didnt leadd to a crash.
I also tried checking the PSU voltages in software with speccy and openhardwaremonitor but both showed strange voltages so I looked in my UEFI and there it stated that all voltages where okay.

under the onedrive link is a folder where i collected some BSOD dumpfiles and images from the past week or so and also a zip for the last crash that was obtained with V2 log collector. the results of the last memtest are also in there. I also hope the language is correct since I tried to set my system language to english so my dumpfiles are readable.

Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

My Windows Version is 20H2(Build 19042.630).

Thanks a lot already for everyone willing to have a look at this. I would love to fix this, because as long as the PC is not crashing it works amazingly well and is totally sufficient for everything i do.

    :)

    Getting Various BSOD's Since

Thank you for the information. When I get home from work tonight I will try these two steps. Is it ok to play games to try to bait the BSOD to pop up? or do I just have to have the PC sit there after I restart while testing with the clean boot approach?

    - - - Updated - - -

If I get BSOD's should i still post the mini dumps or just follow the clean boot instructions to try to pin point the driver(s) that is/are acting up?

Just in case anybody wants to know what I have tried so far with the help of the Tom's Hardware forums so we don't repeat certain techniques that were already attempted.

  3. Getting BSOD 0x124 error

    Ignore what everone said here.

0x124 BSOD is usually related to VCCIO (VTT), run Prime95 version 26.6 with custom sizes of 512K to 640K with 50% of your memory for at least 8 hours.

If you get a 0x124 BSOD, increase VCCIO voltage by small steps, run Prime95 again until your stable.

If you pass Prime95 512K to 640K without a BSOD, then its Vcore too low. I'd suggest running IntelBurnTest with 80% of your memory to verify stability (8 to 12 hours).

Oh, and yeah, if this problem appeared all of the sudden, the reason is CPU degradation, you can prevent it by enabling C-States or adjust your overclock to use lower voltages.

BSODs of various types since the last 6 days

    hi,

i experience BSODs of various types for a few days now and cant really pin point them to a cause.

    what happened so far:

    1. the system got installed in july 2012 since then its running mostly flawlessly
    2. i had 2x NTFS corruption issues that i solved by restoring to a prev. backup.
      • The drives are fine, so at least tells me the monitoring tool i have a running
      • the latter one was in dec 2017
    3. the current BSODs started 8 days ago and happen during very different activities
    4. my 1st action was to uninstalled NVIDA drivers (GF 960) and am running with the stockdrivers that come with win update. the ratinal was that it happened more often with games (that my children play) then anywhere else, but no luck - still getting BSODs
    5. trying to research the causes led me to nothing, so i resorted to restoring my 1st backup onto a fresh SSD, that i made right after having completed installing the system with all the utils and drivers
    6. having seen that there are some memory management BSODs i tested (memshed) the RAM with standard settings (2 passes) but that didnt yield anything either
    7. however, trying to just run the windows update on the 6 year old state brought me 3 BSODs, so its fairly safe to conclude that is likely not the drivers, nevertheless i enabled the verifier tool according to https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...skrnlexe/5ebb516a-3634-431d-818c-39a24ca3a378
and maybe this will yield some intel
    8. if u could have a look @ the dump files that would be great and even more so, that results in some tips on how to remedy the problem.
    9. ATM i'm installing a more recent backup from april onto the new SSD and want to see if things are there bad the same way
    10. 2 suspicions i have and maybe u could add ur 2cts:
      1. my system has come of age and there is some faulty hard ware causing the trouble
      2. there are a few meltdown/spectre related patches (and also others) that didnt go thru. could it be that i need to apply some bios patch or smth?
    so long
