Windows 10: Getting Windows 10 Mobile Updates on Release Preview Ring

Yesterday, we released the Windows 10 Creators Update for Mobile (Build 15063.251) to supported devices in the Release Preview ring coming from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393). Today we are enabling the update path from Build 15063.x to Build 15063.251 in the Release Preview ring. That means if you have a device that is on Build 15063.2 and recently moved to the Release Preview ring as mentioned in our guidance here – your device should pick up 15063.251 and future Cumulative Updates for the Windows 10 Creators Update for Mobile released to the Release Preview ring going forward.

If you are a Windows Insider on a device that was previously supported for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update but is no longer supported for the Windows 10 Creators Update – please note the following update paths to either stay on the Windows 10 Creators Update or get back to a supported state:

· If you are on an unsupported device and already on the Windows 10 Creators Update (Build 15063): Go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program and move to the Release Preview ring in order to continue receiving Cumulative Updates for Build 15063. Your device should pick up Build 15063.251 today.

· If you are on an unsupported device not on the Windows 10 Creators Update (Build 15063): To get to Build 15063, join the Windows Insider Program on your device and get into the Fast or Slow ring. Once in the Fast or Slow ring, your device will begin taking multiple “hops” to get to Build 15063. Older devices will likely have to take the Windows 10 November Update (Build 10586) and Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) in order to get to Build 15063. Once you get to Build 15063 on your device, make sure you go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program and move to the Release Preview ring in order to continue receiving Cumulative Updates for Build 15063.

· If you are on an unsupported device and want to return your device to a supported state: You will need to remove your device from the Windows Insider Program by using the Windows Device Recovery Tool to re-flash your device and use the Upgrade Advisor app to get back to Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393). From there, your device will receive the latest Cumulative Updates for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update going forward.

Please note: If your device was in the Release Preview ring and receiving Cumulative Updates (Build 14393.xxx) for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update previously but no longer supported for the Windows 10 Creators Update – your device will no longer receive updates via the Release Preview ring. You will need to go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program and press the “Stop Insider Preview builds” button to leave the program. You will then continue receive Cumulative Updates (Build 14393.xxx) for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

What is the latest windows insider fast ring build for Lumia 535?

But I have been getting updates till build 10586.107 in the fast ring, are you sure this fast ring is now reserved for phones shipped with windows 10? Also to switch to slow or release preview ring
only needs to select slow/release preview ring in the insider app from fast ring or I need to roll back to windows 8.1 using windows device recovery tool and again register for insider preview for slow or release preview ring?

Unable to get Creators Update for Mobile

The update is for supported devices, the list of thirteen phones. All these phones came with 10 installed except the 640 and 640 XL.

If you are a Windows Insider on an unsupported device, you can stay on the Windows 10 Creators Update and receive Cumulative Updates via the Release Preview ring. However, you do so at your own risk as it's unsupported. If you are on one of these unsupported
devices and in the Fast or Slow ring, you will need to switch to the Release Preview ring via Settings > Update & security > Windows Insider Program.

Ya, I am on an unsupported device and have to switch to the preview ring to go to 15063.251 from where I am now, 15063.138
