Windows 10: Ghost browser tabs remain visible in ALT+TAB switcher after closing original window

Issue Description:When frequently switching between web browsers tested on Chrome 115.0 & Firefox 116.0 and other applications using ALT+TAB on Windows 11 22H2, I'm observing persistent "ghost" browser tab entries that remain visible in the task switcher even after:Closing the parent browser windowConfirming complete browser process termination via Task ManagerPerforming clean browser restartsReproduction Steps:Open a browser with 3+ tabsALT+TAB 5-6 times between browser and other apps e.g. NotepadClose browser through File > ExitContinue using ALT+TAB - ghost tab icons persistTechn

alt + tab not working

Just found a really cool way to make alt+tab INSTANT!!!

In the launch options write the following: -windowed -noborder





This play exactly the same as fullscreen but now you dont have to wait 30 f*@!ing seconds to alt+tab back in!

Also you don't get the little purple/black checkered effect (only in Source games) from alt+tabbing in fullscreen.

i always just use the windows key to get back to the desktop [pops up the start dealy, doesn't need anything to alt+tab to]

 

Alt-Tab list always includes Cortana (new behavior)

it is not normal for Cortana to be visible in the Alt + Tab task switcher, unless the Cortana app is open, processes running in the background should not be visible in the task switcher
