    Ghost folder occasionally appearing on desktop. Any ideas ?


    I occasionally get the following ghost folder appear on the desktop. Its very random and I can go many days without seeing it. When it does it appear there is no delete option, just the options shown in the picture. Doing nothing apart from a restart always makes it disappear. The folder opens to the shown image (DVD Drive).

    Using Irfanview to resize images and save them back under the same file name has on more than one occasion caused it to appear, however today simply updating a programs cumulative data file (a simple update in the form of a text file with new information on it) also seemed to cause it to appear.

    Any ideas as to what it may be or why it happens ?

    Palm Treo 700wx won't sync

    How can I get my Palm Treo to sync with Windows Vista. The phone is detected (occasionally, not always) but the Calendar, contacts and everything else except for files is "ghosted". Therefore, nothing is synching, even though the phone goes through the
    motion. On the phone, when I go to Options, the same folders are ghosted so I can't synch anything with my PC. HELP!

    Ghost folder occasionally appearing on desktop. Any ideas ?

    Do you have any USB sticks or other removable media plugged in plugged in ?
    It looks like it's shutting down and waking up occasionally.

    Not when it happens, no. Only USB device permanently connected is an HP wireless mouse receiver.
