Windows 10: Giant black window stuck on screen after updating to windows 11

There's no other way to describe this, really. I accidentally let my PC update to w11 and was greeted with this. I assume it was meant to be a welcome screen? But it's just a black box. It is completely click-through, doesn't respond to task menu switching or clicking where the close button would presumably be, and there's nothing in the taskbar that suggests anything other than my browser is running. On top of this, maybe it's relevant, right-click menus do not show up except on the desktop and my taskbar disappears when I go to the desktop using the lower-right corner of it until I alt tab.

Windows 7 black screen of death

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.

 

Windows 10 stuck at black screen


hi, i tried upgrading my windows 7, but failed 5 times.
step 1 on copying files are 100%
step 2 installing features n updates are 100%
step 3 FAILED, it stuck on black screen and freeze, nothing i can do besides force restart and its restored to my windows 7 back.

any idea how to solve this? it's always stuck at 75% step 2 and when go to step 3 is freeze ( 5 times in row, i'm thinking give up or buy new laptop with windows 10*Biggrin*Biggrin*Biggrin)

p.s i'm currently downloading ISO file to blank DVD hopefully it's works
