When I try to save a file from the web when I type in what I want to name the file the name does not type correctly but winds up...     gibberish characters when try to save a file in Windows 10


    Strange development. When I try to save a file from the web when I type in what I want to name the file the name does not type correctly but winds up as gibberish. This happens at no other time. All the virus and malware checks come up clean. Any ideas appreciated.

    Notepad showing gibberish characters after copying to a different device

    All my notepad content after moving to a new device opening showing gibberish characters in ANSI mode, based on reading few blogs I have tried opening in UTF-8, Unicode and Unicode with Big endian it still shows in gibberish characters.

    Windows 10 Notepad version 1803.

    This not only with Notepad, all pdf, word and excel shows as file corrupted. Kindly help me getting out of these issues.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
