Windows 10: Gifted laptop and cannot figure out what PW was or change it in any way.

Hi!I was gifted an Eluktronics laptop and never set up the password, at least I dont think, and I cannot sign in, change account, reset password, and its not accepting my security question answers. Likely because I did not fill them out. My brother gave this to me but doesnt have a back up boot disc or anything. What can I do about this to use this computer? Thank you!Shane

How to change my Windows 10 Login PW

Hi,

I can't figure out how to change my Windows 10 Login PW. If I go to Windows settings, it says I'm using an online MS account to sign in. That account has a different PW than the Windows 10 PW that I use every day to sign on to my laptop. If I go to sign
in options / change your PW, it doesn't accept the Windows 10 PW I'm using to sign onto my laptop.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

change of PW Windows 7 - requesting USB/disk drive

In my other computer, Windows 7 - Bitdefender suggested change of PW (none) to one to log in to the computer (laptop).

As I changed it, it came up with an error, so I said to ask upon login.

Now it won't let me access as it says that PW incorrect.

Selecting Reset PW asks for disk drive or USB - and PW wizard states that I need to prepare the diskdrive for such a use.

How/where can I do this???

Your question is confusing as to whether you used a Password to sign in before this, or not.

You make a Password Reset disk before you forget the Password, not afterwards.
