    G5 MD laptop, details attached in image form.Long story short: On a discord call the other night, suddenly headset was only putting audio through right-side headset speaker; it had been having issues of only putting audio through the right-side speaker mic worked fine, despite being on the left-side, but if I wiggled the cord, it would put through normally.This time, no such luck, and when I removed the headset, no audio through the laptop speakers.Tried plugging and unplugging several times and tried plugging in different headsets during which I noticed, where a little pop-up used to appea

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.



    As usual, when you have Headphones plugged into the 3.5mm audio port, you should see an headphones device called "Headphones" in the output list, and at this point, you should see an Headset called "Jack microphone" in the Input list, as this will verify that your headset is correctly recognized.

    As you described it, though, headphones could just as well send out sound while the laptop's speakers are working, but it doesn't show up on the list.

    At this point, I think it should already be obvious that the Rwaltek audio driver in your Gigabyte laptop is definitely faulty, which is why you don't see the option you should in the realtek Audio console.

    So visiting Gigabyte's manufacturer's website to download the audio driver is a right choice and you did the right thing. However, it seems that after installing the official Gigabyte drive, the problem still exists. So, right click on the Start menu - Device Manager - Sound, Video and Game Controllers, find the Realtek Audio driver here, and confirm that the yellow exclamation mark is present on the driver.

    An exclamation mark indicates that the system has identified a fault with the audio driver, you can try to fix it by updating the device, you can uninstall it, restart the device, and the driver will be automatically reinstalled when you restart the device.

    If this still does not work, or the driver is recognized as a "functioning device" in the Device Manager, please report the issue to Gigabyte's official after-sales support and see if they can assist you with further debugging.

    Laptop not splitting headset mic & audio?

    Hi
    Simple version. When i plug in my headset to my laptop windows10 is not splitting it into one output and one input.

    I fixed this years back by setting the popup box 'whats plugged in' from headphone to headset. Then it split the audio and mic. However i had to reinstall windows and now when i select headset it just mutes my laptop mic and audio manager just shows the one mic, but two audio outputs.

    It was working before the reset and i have tested the headset on another computer and it is working find.
    So far i tried device manage audio driver install, for both Realtek driver and High Definition driver but either resolve the issue.

    Any suggestions why windows would pick up one and not the other?

    I currently have it set to headphone plugged in so that i can use my laptop mic, but ive been told i sound really bad *Sad

    No Audio with Gigabyte B560 HD3 running Windows 11

    I have built 2 new systems using Gigabyte B560 HD3 Motherboards and installing Windows 11 Pro. Everything works great except there is NO sound from the speakers (which have tested good). Neither build had any sound output.

    Every troubleshooting step that I'm familiar with was tried plus all applicable ones that I've found on-line. I discussed this issue with Gigabyte support people and we tried everything they suggested and they stated that the MBs were defective.

    I also talked to Microsoft support and we went through all the trouble shooting steps they knew still pointing to a defective MBs.

    Both Gigabyte B560 HD3 being defective seemed strange but they were consecutive serial numbers so maybe there were some bad Realtek cards? The Mbs were returned to Gigabyte and exchanged for two new replacements. After building the system with the
    first new replacement board the NO SOUND issue is still there. The correct updates had/have been made with BIOS, audio drivers etc.
    yet still no sound. It doesn't seem that the MB is the issue but something is missing in the link between the Realtek Audio portion of the board and the rear panel outputs. Surely someone else has had this issue as well. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
