  1. Give Admin Permissions to Computer for Program Updates on a Per Application Basis

I wanted to know if it is possible for a computer to be given access to allow updates for a specific program, even though I do not want this user to have complete admin privileges. Ideally, I just want them to only be able to grant permission for updates to applications that are used specifically for their user productivity. If this is possible, could you please list the step-by-step process for this to be implemented for my team?

    :)

How to always allow administrator permissions for a specific application

    Hi Lyon,

Windows 10 gives users the ability to customize how they run applications. We suggest that you follow the steps below on how to grant administrator permission to a specific application:

    • Click the Windows icon on your Windows 10 screen that will open the list of applications. Right click on the specific application that you wish to have an admin permission, click the
More and click Open file location.
    • A new window will open to the location of the program. Right-click on the program and click
      Properties from the pop-up menu.
    • In the Properties window, click the Shortcut tab and then click
      Advanced.
    • In the Advanced Properties window, check the box next to
      Run as administrator
      and click OK.
    • The program will now open in administrator mode when you click the shortcut from the Start menu. Repeat the steps above for other desired applications.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Error with permissions as admin with program installer

    Thank you for your feedback!

I think I misunderstood the issue described earlier.

From the picture, it appears that the installation program does not have permission to add KeePassXC under C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs. It refers to not having access to the C: \ ProgramData \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs folder

You need to check the permissions of the folders in the path step by step

Also, is user an administrator account? The following methods can be used to check

Press win+r, enter the command netplwiz to check if it belongs to the administrator group

Additional suggestions, I'm not sure if there will be other strange permission restrictions. Can I install this PC completely new after buying it back?

  4. Give Admin Permissions to Computer for Program Updates on a Per Application Basis

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID (windows 10)

    Hi,

Thank you for the update and I apologize for the delay in response.

It must be difficult when things do not work as expected.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to check whether the applications are compatible or not from the manufactures website. If these applications are compatible, I suggest you to run the application in compatible mode and check if it helps to
    resolve the issue.

    Please follow the below steps:

    • Right click on the Program
    • Click on Properties
    • Click on Compatibility tab
    • Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
Please reply to us with the required information. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.
