Windows 10: Give Read-Access To A Single Computer Where The MAC Address Match And For XML Files

Hello Guys,I hope somebody could help me for my purpose. I would like to know if there is a way to satisfy all the purpose below : 1. Restrict Read-Access to XML file to a any computers where MAC Address doesn't match,2. Only give Read-Access to to XML file to a single computer where MAC Address match,3. Those XML files are a part of Zip file and content. I would like to make and extraction not possible for any computers where MAC address doesn't match, and using certificate & private key already generated and created with OpenSSL,4. Only allow extraction of the Zip file and its content

Change Mac address

The MAC address is like your devices ID ,so short of being able to change very core settings ,you're not gonna be able to do anything unless I'm mistaken.

Maybe you don't need to change your MAC address, what is it you're trying to accomplish?

Spoiler: I found this change mac w/o root I can't say whether or not this is an effective method it's just a method I found after searching this topic .
I cant say whether or not it is "safe" or if the software required is free. use at your own risk.

Change MAC Address of Android Devices without Root Access

Go to Settings>About Phone>Select Status and then make a note of the current MAC Address of your Android device.
Download the Android Terminal Emulator application from the Google Play Store. You can directly navigate to the Android Terminal Emulator Google Play Store download page by clicking here.
Launch the above application on your Android device and then type “IP LINK SHOW”.
Note the interface name of your Android device from the list.
And then type in the command below,
ip link set interfacename XX:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY
Replace interfacename with the Interface Name of your network that you noted in Step 4 above and XX:XX:XX:YY:YY:YY with the MAC Address you wish to set.
And that’s it. The MAC Address of your Android device will now be modified/changed.

 

I've set up a local network and want to access shared files from an Apple Mac on the network

I tried every single step. In the end, my laptop PC could not see the Mac as it did before, but if I typed \\<the mac's ip address> it immediately connected and I could access the files on the mac. The mac appears by its ip address in the navigation pane
but not at all in the network computers in the main Network window of File Explorer. I could live with that as long as I have access to the files.

But on the desktop PC there is no way in hell. I see nothing in the navigation pane and only the two PCs in the File Explorer Network window. Whether I type \\<the mac's share name> or \\<the mac's ip address>, its the same result.

I'm going to try one more time to go through every step in your groovypost article and compare if there's any difference in the laptop to see if there is something I can find. If not, I'm going to try to buy a new NIC card for the desktop and see if that
makes a difference. The NIC hasn't been giving me any problems in any other way except this.
