Windows 10: Glary Utlitiies 5

A recent post prompted me to give Glary Utilities 5 a go. I shut it down ages ago as it played funnies with my pc. It loaded ok and ran a good cleanup. UNTIL I rebooted later and games and software were misbehaving graphic wise.

I removed Glary Utilities 5 and had to do a System Restore. It worked and all my web sites returned to WYSIWIG instead of garbage. I have yet to check my games.

Glary was a disaster and never again will it darken my door.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Glary Utilities Dangers

Well I received this for free from giveawayoftheday to test out and ran the fixes and then wouldn't you know it my darn netflix in IE9 no longer worked...I tried reloading vid drivers and the likes ...then I remembered running Glary Utilities and used the restore built in to get the registry back to what it was....lol.... CCleaner for the winner once again and Glary Utilities into the toilet!

 

Need Serious Help: How To Record Video of What is Done on my PC?

I suggest the following simple steps:

1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.
