Hello all,Really I am so frustrated lately, It's been a month since this issue started and I am using my mobile for any uploads on the same WiFI.I am on windows 10 Pro Fresh Install, did it a few days ago.I cannot upload anything to any website, I tried to fresh install windows but it didn't work, I am on a WiFi network where my mobile does get the normal upload speed of up to 3 MB as per my ISP.I tried the website to speed test my WIndows laptop I get 96 KB up to 150 KB, on the same network different device it's up to 3 MB.I tried to change the drivers!!I used an external USB WiFi adapter!!Fr

  2. Slow upload speed

I have a cable service which is supposed to provide download speed of 300 Mbps and upload speed of 20 Mbps. My PC is connected to the service providers modem via an ethernet cable. I recently had a problem with both speeds being ultra low. A technician
visited and traced the problem to a broken copper wire tip on the input cable to the modem. He cut the end off the cable and crimped a new connector on. He ran some tests presumably to check that no other faults existed, reconnected the cable to the modem
and both speeds ran within the correct ranges.

The next day I decided to run a speed test and the download speed was fine but the upload speed was very low (down to 1.9 Mbps).

being curious I disconnected the infeed cable to the modem and checked the new connection. Everything looked fine so i reconnected the cable and ran another speed test. Both speeds were back up where they should be.

The next day I ran another speed test and the upload speed was low again. This time disconnecting and reconnecting the input cable to the modem did not resolve the problem.

Sorry for being so long winded here but my technical knowledge is rather limited and I prefer not to play with things I do not understand, but my question, "should I be concerned about the slow upload speed?" It does not appear to be causing any great problem
but the technician who visited did indicate that a slow upload speed could cause other problems with the modem, such as it automatically rebooting itself. This has occurred twice since the slow upload speed came back.

Other than going back to the service provider and waiting until they can send another technician out, is there anything I can do myself to resolve the problem?

  3. Slow Download Speed

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft forums.

    • I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
    • I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.
    • You may plug in the Ethernet cable if available and check the speed.

Hope the information is helpful. Feel free to write to us for any other assistance with Windows, we’ll be glad to assist you

WIFI Upload speed slow (throttled down)

WIFI upload speed is so slow on windows 10, 0.4 MB, compared to 3 MB when running on the same device from linux. The issue happens on 2 different devices, which rules out a device issue, and is running perfect from linux, which rules out a network or device
issue. Speed is fine when using a wired connection, and download speed is always good in all cases, 38 MB. Upload speed is fine when running tests from my android phone as well.

So the only situation where the upload speed throttles to 0.4 MB is when using WIFI on windows 10.

Solutions i've tried include DisableTaskOffload & "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable", booting in safe mode, uninstalling-reinstalling drivers, resetting internet connection, updating windows, searching for drivers update in device manager,
    and more.

Seems to be a windows 10 issue, trying to throttle down upload for some reason since it is happening on two different devices with different configurations, and as it is working fine on linux on the same devices.

Appreciate any feedback or proposed solutions.
