Windows 10: Gmail account is listed in Windows - but it is not used at all in Windows

I've done some Googling and Redditing on this with no luck. Hoping someone might have an idea what my issue is.But....I had a user update his work Workstation Dell P340 from Windows 10 to Windows 11. After updating to Windows 11 his personal Gmail account shows up under his Windows login account when you press the Windows button and is listed in email and accounts but he don't use it anywhere within Windows. His Windows login account is a local administrator account. If you look in his Windows Local Users and Groups, he only has his local account configured. If you go to a command prompt a

Can anyone tell me how to delete these accounts from GMail ?

But....

I had a user update his work Workstation (Dell P340) from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

After updating to Windows 11 his personal Gmail account shows up under his Windows login account (when you press the Windows button) and is listed in email and accounts but he don't use it anywhere within Windows.

His Windows login account is a local administrator account. If you look in his Windows Local Users and Groups, he only has his local account configured. If you go to a command prompt and type echo %username% it shows he's logged in with that local user account.

He has a company issued Office 365 account that is used for OneDrive / Teams / other O365 apps.

He doesn't have his personal Gmail account configured in Outlook or Windows native mail app.

But his Gmail account is listed under his name when you press the Windows start button, and it also is in Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts. But it is not listed anywhere else.

And we can't figure out how to remove it. It doesn't cause any operational issues, he's just nervous that his personal Gmail account is listed in Windows, and I'm curious that we can't figure out any way to get rid of it.

This occurred after he upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10.

Anybody seen this issue after upgrading to Windows 11?

This is an interesting observation. You said it is listed under Settings > Accounts > Email & account, on this page, there are two sections. Is it listed under "accounts used by email, claendar and contacts", or "account used by other apps". If it is the latter, under the gmail address, does it say anything such as "microsoft account"?

Does he use the Store app and that store app is signed into his personal MS account (with gmail being the username)? Or Edge?

Initially was this computer set up using his MS account first, and then turned to local account later?

If you go to the Registry editor and navigate to the following path on the left, do you see his gmail listed? If so, you can right click and delete it. Then restart.
