Windows 10: Gmail sign in a significant issue after adding a computer with two accounts and affects...

Is there a fix for this or can Microsoft fix this so that both Microsoft Edge and Firefox will have no problems accessing gmail directly and work with multiple accounts?Background - Before the issue happened, I was using windows 10 on three different HP computers and I could access gmail.com using Firefox via my main pc and phone with no problem. Each computer had my accounts on them. My 2nd laptop would not allow me to load another gmail without using my phone with a special code. I then upgraded to Windows 11 on all three computers, still no gmail problem. Because I have Microsoft 365 with 1

I have several gmail accounts and can sign into Chrome with each except for one.
When I attempt to sign in with the problem account it tells me that the password is incorrect.
Using Gmail's account recovery & 2 factor authentication gmail sends a verification code to my phone (which I receive).
The next step is to enter the verification code into account recovery which it accepts.
It then states that it will send a code to my recovery email address.
However, I don't receive the email.
I've attempted using a different recovery email address with no luck.
Now the email account is working since it receives (& sends) emails daily (vial Mailbird).
It's just not possible to sign into Chrome with it.
Any suggestions?

 

Adding another Account

I suggest that you perform the steps below and check if the issue persist:

Go to the Security section of your Google account

Under Connected apps and sites, go to Apps connected to your account, make sure Windows is on the list.

After the Google account is connected with your computer, you need to create the new IMAP account. But, before you create a new IMAP account in your Mail app, you need to enable IMAP usage in your Google account. Follow the steps
below to do so:

• Sign in to Gmail
• Click the gear in the top right
• Select Settings
• Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP
• Select Enable IMAP
• Click Save Changes

After you enabled IMAP usage in your Google account, you can create the new IMAP account in your Mail app, and everything should work fine. Just follow these steps to create the new IMAP account:

• Open the Mail app
• Go to Settings (Cog icon), Accounts, Add Account, Advanced Setup, and then to Internet Email
• Fill in the details like this:

• Account Name: {any string like “My Gmail”}
• Your Name: {your name like “Fred Bloggs”}
• Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com:993
• Account Type: IMAP4
• User name: {your gmail address}
• Password: {the one time password you just generated, otherwise just your gmail password}
• Outgoing SMTP email server: smtp.gmail.com:465
• All checkboxes checked

• 
  4.Now try to connect to your Google account with the new Account.

I'm sitting here in the office, its the end of the year in the school system, and several employees transferring to alternative counties. With this it brings loads of transferring contacts to take with them from their company phone. Well, this one in particular sparked a guide idea. So here it is, How to transfer Outlook contacts to your Gmail account.


Step 1: Sign in to your outlook account.
step 2 In the top left hand corner click File > Import/Export > Export to file > Browse to desired place to save your file > export. Be sure you export the file as .csv (comma separated values)
Step 3 Log into your Gmail account
Step 4 Select 'Contacts' In the subsection you will see a 'Import' button on the right-hand side. Click it.
Step 5 Browse to the location where you saved it > Open it > Click Import.



I would have provided pictures, but I use neither Outlook or Gmail. Hope someone somewhere gets some use from this. *Toast :toast:
