Hello there. This is my first time posting in a windows forum so please bear with me. So, I tried the 1607 Anniversary Update from Windows 10 and it caused me lags and freezes in my desktop, so now I want to revert back to my former build. But, Windows is not letting me do so. Please help me.

That windows just pops up for a few seconds and proceeds to disappear. Doesn't make any sense at all. Are there any more ways to revert back to my old build other than this method? 'cause it clearly is not working for me. Thank you so much in the future for helping. Happy New Years.

    :)

    Dear Porogami:
Welcome to TenForums. Sorry such a dire situation prompts you to your first forum post.
Alas rollback will fail if it can't find all the files it needs to do the job. If you've cleaned up Windows.old, for example, the files it needs to make the switch are MIA. Because rollback won't work, you must try other options. If you have restore points enabled, you might be able to use one of them to go back in time to a point prior to the upgrade. But restore points can have occasional problems, so your best bet -- if it's open to you -- would be to restore a backup made prior to the Anniversary Update upgrade. Hopefully, you've got one.
Take a look at your restore options (restore points and backups) and let us know what you've got to work with. Then, we can provide some additional advice.

Also, Ed has covered all of the important points except maybe the clean install option. Since you seem to be having issues with the Anniversary Edition on your PC, then maybe a clean install of Windows will provide a nice environment for your equipment to excel in. An upgrade often causes equipment to lag whereas a clean install eliminates a lot of "gunk" from your system

Unfortunately an upgrade to a new version of windows (as the upgrade from 1511 to 1607 was) seems to remove all restore points for the earlier version as to apply them would likely break the system (the restored files would be for 1511, while those not replaced would still be 1607).

As an alternative to a clean install, an in-place repair install may help. Worth a try before wiping everything with a clean install.

Good points from all the other responders. I agree an in-place upgrade/repair install could be helpful. And of course, a clean install is always the best way to get a "fresh start" with Windows 10. Thanks!
