    Go Daddy and MS Exchange

We use Go Daddy as our web hosting platform, as well as providing our business email. We have used Thunderbird as our local client for several years with no problems. Today, I was unable to use it, and after some research, found the settings MS says to use. After editing the account settings, I was able to receive mail but not send. The error message reads, in part, "Unable to authenticate outgoing server, smtp, office 365.com .....verify Authentication method...". I have confirmed and reconfirmed that the settings are exactly as MS says they should be, as well as that the password has been

E72 Issues connection to Microsoft Exchange Server with Go Daddy Certificate

    > purchased a Go Daddy certificate

Do you have Go Daddy Class 2 Authority Certificate on you phone?

    > it just opens it as a text file

    > it doesn't give us the option to install

Which format of certificate did you use? How did you install it? It sonds like an invalid certificate format.

As it is an internal mail server, have you ever tried Trusted Site Certificates?

  3. E72 Issues connection to Microsoft Exchange Server with Go Daddy Certificate

We are experiencing serious issues with E72 phones working with our SBS 2008 Server running Exchange 2007.

We have purchased a Go Daddy certificate as we need to use this due to issues with Outlook 2013, however whenever we configure the new certificate our E72 all stop working, we have about 10 of them. If we revert the SSL certificate back to a self-signed
    certificate the phones work.

We thought this might be due to the phones already having the self-signed certificate in memory so we took a phone today, factory reset it and tried to configure an email account when we had the go daddy certificate installed but it would not sync
    email, exactly the same issue.

I'm confident the issue isn't at the server end as all our HTC, Android and iPhones all work regardless of the certificate, we just get a warning when we change to the self-signed certificate.

We have tried copying the certificate to the phone and installing but when you click the certificate on the phone it just opens it as a text file, it doesn’t give us the option to install

Has anyone else experienced similar issues, any help would be appreciated?

Exchange Activesync not synchronising Nokia Lumia 520 Error Code 80072F9C

I just had the same problem, and was dismayed to see Microsoft and MVPs suggest it was because you needed to upgrade from Exchange 2003. ActiveSync had worked fine for me so far, and there'd been no change on phone or server, so I tried a simpler, faster,
    cheaper approach:

Just delete and recreate your Exchange account on the phone.

    • Open your Exchange email on the phone, press the ... button at the bottom and choose Folders. Take a note of which folders are listed (the ones you sync). Press Back twice to exit.
    • Go to Setttings | email + accounts
    • Tap your Exchange account (the one with the E icon), make a note of the settings, and cancel
    • Long press on your Exchange account and choose delete from the pop-up menu that opens
    • Choose "add an account", choose Exchange and enter the settings from step 3 (it will progressively ask for more settings if it needs them). Your Exchange email will sync for a while.
    • Open your Exchange email, which will have been pinned at the end of your home screen. Press the ... button at the bottom and choose Folders, then All Folders, to select the folders which you want to sync (from step 1).
Hope this helps others get up and running again. Obviously staying on Exchange 2003 isn't a great idea, but minor hiccups like this don't merit a major upgrade.
