windows 11 cannot detect my second monitor

Windows 11 cannot detect my second monitor. Help. I did all the suggested troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to work.

Windows 11 deactivating external monitor after 1-2 days.

Hello L,

I am Jaspreet Singh.

Since the issue occurs after a day or 2, an update to either the monitor driver or the graphic driver that may be causing issues. Since you have already checked graphic driver check for any updates to the monitor driver. Windows also provides driver updates through windows updates itself so check if there is an update in windows history relating to monitor/graphic driver update. If yes uninstall it.

For updates in device manager follow these steps:

Open device manager by pressing windows and X keys together and clicking on device manager.

click on monitors and right click on your external monitor.

Click on update device.

Click on "Browse my computer for drivers"

Click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

You should see a list containing all available drivers for your device including previous drivers.

Choose the one below the selected driver in the list.

Click on Next and let the driver install.

Close the windows and reboot your device.

Check if the issue has been resolved.
