Windows 10: good day,i have a problem with printing from my generic text printer windows 10 on zebra...

i use it on the same port with a zebra printer.when i try to calibrate my zebra printer its calibrating as well as printing .however iam failing to print from a generic text printer.it is giving no error message but just shows that it had printed and thats it.Thank you

Zebra thermal printer KR203 being detected as unspecified device, not as printer.

We have multiple KIOSK systems connected to Zebra KR203 printer. The printer used to work with Windows 10 1909 update but with the security updates (20h2 or 21h1), printer stopped working.

We performed below steps to create a driver which can support Zebra KR203 printer. Please suggest if we are missing something.

• We setup a development machine to work on this issue and installed Visual Studio 2019 and Windows Driver Kit Version 10.0.19041.685.
  
• Uninstalled pre-installed Zebra printer driver.
  
• Created a new project of type “V4 printer driver” on VS2019.
  
• In the Create a V4 Print Driver Wizard, under Choose the driver rendering type:, selected V4 print driver with custom rendering filters (accepts XPS only). Kept other setup settings as default. After project is created, verified the necessary files after the creation of project as suggested by document. Followed the steps from the link: Build a basic v4 printer driver - Windows drivers | Microsoft Learn
  
• Configured the target machine as per “Configure the driver solution for debugging and deployment” steps provided. Result: Complete
  
• We are currently in “Build and deploy the driver” step of the link mentioned above. Result: Builds successfully but driver output states “please select a valid target machine for deployment from the project property page”.
  

NOTE:

One day the printer started giving prints from MS word (windows 10 20H2 version), which was not working earlier. We tried to test the printer on another system following the same steps, but when we again connected the printer back to development machine, it stopped working and now it is not being detected as a printer, rather being detected as an unspecified device. (with or without Zebra’s own drivers)

 

After Windows 10 upgrade Zebra Z105 Tag printer not working with Serial COM Port.

Dear Microsoft Community guys

Last few days back I upgrade my Windows 8.1 pro PC to latest Windows 10. After my upgrade Zebra Z105 Tag printer not working with Serial COM Port. Even after installing with Generic/Text only driver way. In Device manage, there is no more driver issues,
both COM and LPT ports are showing working fine.

Always showing printer in error state.

Same problem I faced with another LPT port also, after enabling Legacy Plug and PLAY in LPT, I found printer location LPT1.4. So I create another new port with name as LPT1.4 its working fine in same Generic text Driver.

So please give me good solution in these problem, Windows 10 really supports COM and LPT ports are not?

 

Generic / Text Only Driver

Good Afternoon, in the office where I work we have recently replaced 8 computers and all have windows 10. We have a Zebra label printer that prints labels to attach to our fire sprinkler pipe. We have always used the Generic / Text Only driver. We've tried
to use the zebra drivers but it only prints the image. I work for Ferguson and the 3rd level team in our IT department have been tackling this now for a week. We can get the labels to print with windows 10 only off the laptop that one of the techs have but
not from the desktop PC's. Do you recognize this issue?
