Windows 10: Google Drive icon disappeared from notification area on right side of taskbar

The Google Drive icon has been in the notification area of my windows taskbar for years. Suddenly today it is gone. In taskbar settings it is toggled on for notification area. I need it back! When I save documents or anything I see it spin as it is saving to Drive. Now I can't see that anymore. How to put it back? All directions I have read just pins the icon in the taskbar on the left; I want it in the notification area on the right. Please help!

How to remove the Notification Area on the right of the screen

Hi,

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Taskbar Notification area on Search and hit
  Enter.
• Under Taskbar you may Turn off notifications as per your requirement.
• Under Notification area click on Select which icons to appear on Taskbar
  also Turn system icon on or off and you may Turn off notifications as per your requirement.

one drive icons not appearing on Notification area

I suggest you to check if Notification setting for One Drive Is turned on. Follow the steps below.

• Click on Start button and Select Settings.
• Select System and Click on Notification and Actions.
• Click on Select which icon to appear on taskbar.
• Turn on the notification for One Drive.

Hi,

To address your concern, follow the steps below on how to show hidden icons on the taskbar.

• Open Settings, and click on the Personalization
  icon.
• Click on Taskbar on the left side, and click on the
  Select which icons appear on the taskbar link under the Notification area section on the right.
• Turn on Always show all icons in the notification area at the top
