Windows 10: Google Meet Family Safety No Camera & No Microphone

I am using Microsoft Family Safety on my daughter's Windows 11 pro computer. We are using Edge to enforce content filtering. However, she needs to use the suite of Google apps for school. Currently there is only one app that is not working properly. That app is Google Meet. When running Google Meet on Edge, the microphone and camera are not available. I have tried to allow specific sites permission but nothing is allowing it to work. If I log her off the computer and log on as myself, which is not being monitored by Family Safety, I have access to the microphone and camera.

Google account login not working with Microsoft Family Safety enabled.

I have two Windows 10 computers/accounts that have Microsoft Family Safety enabled for my 13 & 15 year olds. Both are not able to login to their Google accounts via IE11, Edge browser or even the built in mail app. If I disable MS Family Safety on their
accounts, everything (Google account login) works just fine. There are no site restrictions in place and placing Google in the allow list has no effect.

Anyone experience the same problem or have any suggestions.

Hi Mark,

Have you tried manually adding Google on the allowed websites at the Family Safety website? Base on how you setup your web filter, you have set the filter in which Youtube might be included. So, to have Youtube exempted on the list, please follow the steps
below.

• On any computer, sign in to the
  Family Safety home page with your Microsoft ID.
  
• Click Edit settings under the name of the child/member whose settings you want to change, and then click
  Web filtering lists. Under Allow or block a website, type or paste into the box the web address of the website that you want to allow or block.
  Select an option from the list, and then click Add.
  Click Save.

Don't forget to refresh your Family Safety settings to update the changes you made on the website. To refresh the settings, login to the Family Safety client installed on your PC and click the
Get the latest settings from the website button (located on the left side of ?) on the upper right of the window. After doing this, verify if Google is now accessible.

• If you're able to use the camera and microphone on other applications like Skype, Facebook, Google Hangouts etc.
• The last changes made/activities performed on your device prior to the issue.

Also, we'd recommend testing the camera using the application's test procedures. To do this, you can perform the following:

Before a meeting

• Login to the Zoom client.
• Click Settings.
• Click the Video tab.
• You will then see a preview of your camera and you can choose a different camera if needed.
• Click the Audio tab to test for sound.

During a meeting

• In the meeting controls, click the arrow nest to Mute/Unmute.
• Click Audio options.
• This will open the audio settings.
• Click Test Speaker to play a sound. If you cannot hear it, select a different speaker from the menu or adjust the Output volume.
• In the Microphone section, you will see the green Input Level bar move when Zoom is picking up audio.
• Click the Test Mic to test your microphone.
• Your audio will start recording. Click Recording when you are done and it will play back. You can select another microphone from the menu or adjust the input level.
• Tick Automatically adjust microphone settings if you want Zoom to adjust the input volume automatically.
