Windows 10: GoogleDrive and OneDrive conflict on Win10 PC

I am a OneDrive user. I also wanted to sync my Google library to my local fileshare.


When I installed Google Drive Filestream for PC, now I get a recurring dialog stating that "googledrivesync.exe is downloading from onedrive." Nothing you can do to stop this recurring popup in lower righthand corner of screen.

I tried following the recommendation to "%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset", but that doesn't work and the thread is locked.

OneDrive personal vs OneDrive for business vs GoogleDrive


Just curious to know: from a technical point of view:
what are the differences between OneDrive personal, the default OneDrive or the one coming with 365, versus OneDrive for Business?

Background: there may be applications, like SnagIt, that do support OneDrive for Business, or GoogleDrive, or DropBox, but not OneDrive 'personal'.

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

OneDrive - Bait and switch (but to what?)

At one point (when I needed lots of cloud storage), I was using JoliCloud:
Jolicloud

It's basically an aggregation service for several of the most popular cloud storage services in one place (in my case GoogleDrive and Dropbox). Never really bothered with OneDrive.
Dunno if anyone ever tried JoliOS, but it was quite popular cloud OS before it got suppressed by ChromeOS and later discontinued.
