Windows 10: Got a new computer - old one died, how to get files from cloud?

Also complicating factor: I seem to have two separate Microsoft accounts.


When I first started up the new computer I signed into Microsoft account and One Drive let's just call it account "A" and magically a bunch of desktop folders and files appeared. Yay! Only it was then that I realized they were all 2 years old, except for the OneDrive files...those were recent! The older files were from an older laptop affiliated with account A. Next I found that when I opened Microsoft account "B" it showed the more recent laptop the one I want to grab files off of, but for the life of me I can not seem to be able to have THOSE files populate in the same way that the files from account A did. I even restored factory resets on the computer and walked BACK through the startup and registration process a second time, this time using info from account B...but no dice. Nada automatically populated this time.


How can I get the newer of the old files from account B onto my new machine? The machine itself is dead dead dead so don't make any suggestions about putting a cord between the machines. It won't start up, the screen is broken, and a simply recovery process hasn't been able to save files off of it yet. I thought everything was stored in the cloud...obviously SOME of it is since I'm able to pull down files from 2 years ago on the older machine!


Help anyone??

Cloud Storage

Recently my computer died, with a considerable amount of data in the cloud!

On replacing said computer, I have used backups to get some of the data back.

But, the new cloud access (peter/onedrive) is different from the old one (pjesOnedrive (still there)) and my everyday files using Excel point to the old cloud access. There are many cross-references between 9 excel files; if the old files are loaded and
saved somewhere else then I just get totally unintelligible links.

Everything works well but I cannot look at the old data from file explorer to see what is still there.

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Old Hard drive to new hard drive

I now have my old hard drive converted to an external drive and am wondering what is the best way to move files from the old to the new. I was thinking of booting the old drive and saving the files I want to the cloud and then downloading them to my new
computer. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I had to buy a new computer the hard drive failed on my old one but I was not able to back up my old computer before it died, When I plugged in the new computer it auto my old personal back ground unto the screen how could this be?
