Windows 10: Got a Virus in Windows 11 S Mode. Do I stay in Windows 11 s mode or leave S mode to use...

My wife got a Virus in Win 11 S Mode The Virus is topcaptchatoday.ew.r.appspot.com and it was showing false McAfee Virus popup alerts even though I don't have McAfee. She got it by clicking on a link from a close relative on facebook. I found the topcaptchatoday virus Windows in notifications so in MS Edge I selected Restore Settings to their Default Value and no more popup alerts and the topcaptchatoday virus was removed from windows notifications.Question: Do I need to now turn off Windows S mode so I can run a free MalwareBytes scan to remove what's left of the Virus or stay in Windows S

Windowed mode (No border)?

Hi all,
What is the difference between fullscreen mode and borderless window mode? Both of them look like standard fullscreen mode. What is the point? Do games run better on borderless window mode? Why does this option exist at all in games?

I think I've seen that option in GTA V as well, not sure what purpose it has

 

Windows 11 and S mode

Windows 11 also has S mode. If you don't like S mode, you can exit S mode in the current Windows 10 system.

Windows 10 in S mode is designed for security and performance, exclusively running apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, you'll need to switch out of S mode. Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the switch, you won't be able to go back to Windows 10 in S mode. There's no charge to switch out of S mode.

1. On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
   
2. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
   
3. On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.
