Windows 10: Got the message “Can’t move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that...

Actually I already figured this out for my situation to leaving the results...Given: In Explorer I right clicked on pictures, properties, location, I clicked move, selected the new folder and got the “Can’t move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that can’t be redirected” message. The solution for me was to use regedit, navigate to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders. I noticed that some of the folders under Pictures had absolute paths in them. I changed them to %USERPROFILE% instead of C:\... and tried again, that fixed it.

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

 

Hidden folders

I installed `Kane and Lynch` on my PC twice in Program Files(x86) folder but I can`t find them (2 folders with game). But free space on my HDD is lower. So there`re those folders on my hdd. I use option `unhide` hidden folders but still can`t find them. Any suggestions? How can i delete those hidden folders?

When I run istallation for this game I can see those folders in Program Files(x86) folde.

I`m using Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

 

Getting folder names and not location in VB .Net

Hey guys,
I'm getting a problem with my line of code and can't seem to find a workaround that works (all I can find is VB 6)

Code: CheckedListBox1.Items.AddRange(IO.Directory.GetDirectories("my directory here"))[/quote] This deposits all folders locations into a list box but I only need the actual folder name
e.g:

Deposits: C:\Users\Onafets
But all I want is "Onafets"

Is there any way to do this?
