Windows 10: gpedit.msc missing text fields and thorws error

Hi,


As the title mentions, my gpedit.msc doesn't show any text where administrative templates should be, also by left clicking something inside of the folder, some options are blank, yet selectable?


As well, by oppening a child folder and trying to open it, I'm greetet with the following error: Microsoft Management Console: MMC Cannot initialize snap-in.


Few things I tried and checked:

• Followed steps mentioned in the answer here, that didn't changed nothing it seems.
• Checked c:\windows\policydefinitions is not empty.
• Installed the latest available Administrative Templates .admx msi file from Microsoft
• Tried gpupdate /force as well, restarted afterwards, no change.

OS Info:

• Edition: Windows 10 Pro
• Version: 2004
• OS Build: 19041.388
• Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2202.130.0
• System type 64-bit

I can't set a slideshow in the Lock Screen and one of the Microsoft suggestions to use gpedit msc didn't work

I can't set up a slideshow for the lock screen. I can select a picture from the computer or I can select one of the Windows 10 standard pictures. If I select slideshow it doesn't change the PREVIEW and when the computer is inactive I get a black screen.

One of the suggestions made by Microsoft in response to this problem in another post was to run gpedit msc. I have tried this or gpedit.msc or gpedit and in all cases the message I get is gpedit or gpedit.msc or gpedit msc "is not recognised as an
internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

How do I fix the lock screen problem or invoke the local group policy editor?

 

Using the tab key to hop between text fields highlights all buttons

Hello,
Whenever a dialog box pops up in Windows 10, if it contains text input fields and clickable buttons/radio buttons/checkboxes, pressing the tab key steps through every single item in the dialog box, which is very annoying and, to me, pointless. Do I recall that there might be a way to limit this behaviour so the tab key only highlights text input boxes, and not every single element? I can't find anything useful in Windows 10's Settings/Control Panel - am I missing something or is this not possible?

i get same error if i don't add .msc after
