Windows 10: GPO to backup BitLocker key to AD in Windows 11

Hey all,I'm starting a Windows 11 pilot in my enterprise. I've just started and have 5 or 6 Windows 11 machines out there. One of the things we have in place for Windows 10 is the GPO that enables BitLocker, requiring it to back up to AD before encryption. This works great on the Windows 10 machines. We've also tested the key that was created/saved when the device was Windows 10 then upgraded to 11 later. This all works as advertised.However, the few computers that are imaged Windows 11 are not acting quite the same. Those computers are receiving and applying the same GPO as the Windows 10, ex

BitLocker Recovery Key: How To Backup to Microsoft Account Instead of Azure AD?

Hi,

I am trying to backup my BitLocker Recovery Keys to my Microsoft Account, but the option is not there, it has been replaced by the option to backup to Azure AD account.

I do not have a personal subscription to Azure AD, although I can connect to my workplace's Azure account. However, the Recovery Keys do not appear for my devices in their account either.

Ideally I would like the World to forget that I ever accessed Azure & return to normal life!

Any suggestions, please?

 

where to find bitlocker key?

The BitLocker key is in one of the three places that the program suggested to you:

• In a folder of your choice.
• Jotted down on a piece of paper.
• In your Microsoft account (if you have one).

Which one did you select at the time of encryption?

Did you create a backup of your data?
