  1. GPO - Windows Update - Always installs immediately regardless of setting

In Windows 11 23H2, and Windows 11 24H2, we have a GPO configured to download updates automatically from our WSUS server, but not to instal, only to notify. However it always installs, no matter what configuration I have tried. The same behaviour is observed with using Windows Update instead of WSUS, so I assuming this is either a change in behaviour in Windows 11, or some option I have configured which is overriding the GPO somehow.Windows computers are activated with Enterprise licenses.Below are the settings I currently have configured from the Windows Update option:Windows Components/Win

  4. GPO - Windows Update - Always installs immediately regardless of setting

How can I create a GPO to set the scaling to 100?

    Hi, EHP77

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

To set the scaling to 100% through a Group Policy Object (GPO), you can create a GPO that applies a registry setting. Here’s how to do it:

    1. Open Group Policy Management: On a domain controller or a system with the RSAT tools installed, open the Group Policy Management console.
    2. Create a New GPO: Right-click on the desired Organizational Unit (OU) and select “Create a GPO in this domain, and Link it here…”
    3. Name the GPO: Provide a meaningful name for the GPO, like “Set Scaling to 100%”.
    4. Edit the GPO: Right-click on the newly created GPO and select “Edit”.
    5. Navigate to Registry Settings: In the Group Policy Management Editor, navigate to the following location: Computer Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Registry.
    6. Create a New Registry Item: Right-click on the Registry item and select “New” -> “Registry Item”.
    7. Configure the Registry Item: In the “New Registry Properties” dialog box, configure the following settings:
      • Action: Update
      • Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
      • Key Path: Control Panel\Desktop
      • Value name: LogPixels
      • Value type: REG_DWORD
      • Value data: 96 (This is the equivalent of 100% scaling, 192 is 200% scaling, etc.)
    8. Apply the GPO: Click on “OK” to apply the changes and then close the Group Policy Management Editor.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support to view the article.
    9. Update Group Policy on Client Machines: On the client machines, open a command prompt and run the command “gpupdate /force” to apply the new GPO immediately. Alternatively, you can wait for the Group Policy to be updated during its regular refresh interval.
Please note that this change will only take effect after a user logs out and logs back in or a system restart.

    Best Regards
