Windows 10: GPSvc

Why is Group policing GPsvc always running on my windows 10 home edition device when windows 10 Home doesnt support it? In regedit.exe I changed it to manual and it still starts on reboot with no way to stop it. Well, no way that I know of.

Stuck in the "Welcome" Screen When Trying to Log in at Windows 10 (GPSVC Failing)

is the best reference to resolve the error "The universal unique identifier (UUID) type is not supported." Please follow the steps below to perform the workarounds:

Workaround 1:

• Press Windows key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Copy and paste shutdown /r /t 0, then hit Enter.

Workaround 2:

• Press Windows key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• Copy and paste cmd /c reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\gpsvc" /v Type /t REG_DWORD /d 0x10 /f, then hit
  Enter.

Note: Before performing the workaround, we suggest
backing up the registry for restoration should you encounter any issue.

How do I resolve a "GPSVC service failed the sign-in..." issue on my Samsung All-in-One PC?

Hi Kapil,

I've been using your suggested solution without success. The method for changing permissions on the gpsvc registry key differs slightly but I can get it to change the owner from from 'SYSTEM' to my son's user account: 'Edward S*** (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)' in folder
'DESKTOP-16KDNCA'.

However, when I click OK or Apply, I get a Windows Security message saying "Unable to set new owner on gpsvc. Access is denied."

Any other ideas please?
