Windows 10: GPU at -1% Utilization before crashing and Live Kernel event 117 not being recorded

Hello, I have been having an issue that I can't really understand when it really originated as I have had numerous issues over the past year dealing with the 5700xt and a faulty ssd and possibly an old PSU. I have changed the ssd and the PSU and my errors remain. Currently having problems where the GPU just feels like dying and then everything slows down and blue screens after a certain amount of time. Today I was able to restart my pc before my computer strangled itself to death. If you need dumps I have some from when I tried to get my ram to overclock to what is advertized but I cant ever seem to make it work correctly. So far I feel after these several months I am closing in that the GPU or the Ram could be the real issue. Please please please help! I am at my wits end practically with crashes every two days.




It's terrible and it's really rough on my mental because I never know when Its going to crash. Fun fact I have a Uni exam very soon and this all cut through my last-minute studying by 30 mins.

Live Kernel 117

Hi all, I have been having the dreaded Live Kernel 117 error.... and despite many searches and many fixes attempted, it persisted. I use an nVidia GTX980 graphics card. I may have found the source of
the problem... maybe... perhaps?? I play Civilization VI, and often get crashed out with the 117 error. When you start Civ, it gives you an option for Direct X 11 or Direct X 12.... and I'd always left it on 11, which is the default. Well, today, I switched
it to 12, and guess what... no more Live Kernel 117. Is the error originating in the Direct X 11 systems? Either Direct X 11 itself, or the nVidia interaction with Direct X 11? I haven't seen that possibility mentioned anywhere before....

Any thoughts?

 

Live kernel event 117 and 141

Hi there,

I am a bit desperate. I am experiencing kernel event 117 and 141 since like 2 years now.

With my previous buil, ryzen feat 2070 rtx i had this issue already, send back to manufacturer many times, they never found anything, i mean never succeed getting rid of it.

Was like big freezes or black screens while gaming and sometimes while just being on the computer.

So I abandonned this build.

I just bought 1 week ago a laptop: a Razer blade 15. But THEN it happens that i haev the SAME live kernel events in the security and maintenance tab.

All my drivers are up to date. I did a new installation of nvidia drivers.

is there a possibility that my devices that i plug to my computer are the culprits?

my keyboard and my headset are the two devices my previous computer and my new one have in common

keyboard is old logitech, headset is a corsair void pro bluetooth.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
   
2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
   
3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?
   

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
Power Event ID 41 and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows
and check if that helps.
