GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured

I have a 1 year old notebook PC and the model is FX505DT ASUS. It was working fine a day before I starts to get BSODs.It's in a very fast speed that it just flash after the screen freeze and I am not able to look the error code so I decided take a look at the event viewer. The error code is 41 event id and task view 63. After that I tried everything updating gpu driver, audio driver, reformat reset, reinstall gpu driver with ddu and none of that works until i found a forum states that the power controller of Windows 11 might be the cause of it and i went and disable it. It worked and u

  2. BSOD - Critical Process Died

    Hi Tony,

The blue screen error with a stop code 'Critical Process Died' that you encountered can be caused by a recent update, device drivers that got corrupted or system files that got corrupted. For us to resolve your concern, kindly answer the questions below:

    • What changes were made or what updates were installed prior to the issue occurring?
    • Did you mean to say that you ran your device in safe mode when you said that you booted the device with only Microsoft Processes running?
    • Which version and build of Windows 10 is installed on your device?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you follow the steps on this
    link
to run the driver verifier. Driver verifier is an inbuilt tool in the Windows operating system, which helps you to test the drivers which may be corrupted. These corrupted drivers may contribute as to why you're getting a "Blue Screen of Death" (BSOD)
    or stop errors.

We look forward to your response to our queries.

    BSOD occurs randomly

    Hi Szidor,

Welcome to the 10forums GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured :)

I'll post my 0x124 crash troubleshooting template, because a 0x124 crash is the new variant of a 0x9C crash.

STOP 0x124 Troubleshooting [/i] Read carefully before proceeding.

Note Test the system once the overclock is removed before continuing with the steps outlined below.

    Part One: CPU Stress Test
    Part Two: MemTest86+ RAM Diagnostic
    Part Three: Hard Drive Diagnostics
    Part Four: GPU Stress Test

    ONE [/i] CPU TEST

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured arrow.png
Run Prime95 and/or IntelBurnTest to stress test your CPU. Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 10 Forums & CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest - Windows 7 Help Forums

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured [IMG]
Warning Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.
Make a photo of the result and post it.

    TWO [/i] RAM TEST

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured [IMG]
    Note
GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured [IMG]

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it please.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

    THREE [/i] HDD TEST

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured arrow.png
Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
    Run the long test.

Note Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.
Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Run HDTune to
    • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
    • check the health,
    • benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    • the error scan,
    • the health,
    • the benchmark incl. following
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,
      • cpu usage.

    FOUR [/i] GPU TEST

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured arrow.png
Run Furmark to stress test your GPU. FurMark - GPU Stress Test - Windows 10 Forums

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured [IMG]
Note Run Furmark for around 30 minutes.

GPU "died" after a bunch of bsods occured [IMG]
Warning Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.
Make a photo of the result and post it.

In Furmark you can find a tool called 'GPU-Z' (if you want to install GPU-Z is up to you), when GPU-Z is open click on the 'Sensors' tab, on this tab you can monitor
    • the frequency of the GPU,
    • the GPU memory clock,
    • the temperature,
    • the power,
    • the load on the GPU,
    • Etc.
I would like you to make a screenshot of GPU-Z after you have either cancelled Furmark for any reason or Furmark is finished, post this screenshot in your next reply with the result of Furmark.

BSOD totally random, Critical Process Died and Unexcepted Store Except

Alrigh, going from the list of most occuring causes for the last BSOD
    • Memory,
    • Paging file corruption,
    • File system,
    • Hard drive,
    • Cabling,
    • Virus infection,
    • Improperly seated cards,
    • BIOS,
    • Bad motherboard,
    • Missing Service Pack

For the BIOS, you could reset it to the default settings. No updates available.
You could reseat your GPU, RAM and anything else connected to the motherboard.

The other mentioned error codes don't have a list of 'most occuring causes', because they relatively happen infrequently.
