  1. GPU Display Driver reset itself

Booted up and monitor wasn't detecting signal (VGA) disconnected and reconnected the cables, finally it detected the monitor, but all the text was in low resolution.

After opening nvidia control panel moments after it readjusted to to correct resolution.

What could have caused this? I'm using W10 (2004) and using legacy display drivers for my old GeForce 6800 GS from this link: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/82758/en-us

Notice it doesn't say Windows 10 x64 support. Maybe its not compatible? It seemed more stable prior when i was on Windows 8.1, but upgraded.

Is there a more stable driver for this card?

Also saw this: "WARNING! After installation this driver you NEED to delete the spurious user of NVIDIA UpdatusUser (through compmgmt -> Local Users and Groups)! It is the source of system updates "Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070020"

    Shall i do this?

    GPU Display Driver reset itself

    GPU

    Hi,

This issue may happen if the GPU is taking more time to display the graphics on your monitor and if the graphics card or driver is already problematic.

As an initial troubleshooting step, try to uninstall then reinstall the graphics driver and see if the issue will persist:

    • Press Windows key + S and type devmgmt.msc.
    • Press Enter.
    • Expand Display adapters.
    • Right-click on your graphics driver.
    • Select Uninstall.
    • Click OK.
    • Restart your computer.

Update us with the outcome so we can provide further assistance.
