Windows 10: GPU Drivers Crash Entire System Instantly. Multiple GPU's Tested

Hello,I'm hoping for some advice. As the title suggests, I have a strange issue with my system. Last week while playing a game, my computer randomly crashed. Over the weekend it progressively got worse to the point where it would crash anytime the drivers for the GPU got updated. Thinking it was a faulty GPU I had an old 970 I bought a new AMD 9700 XTX, however, I've run into the same problem. The computer runs completely fine until I enable any driver that isn't the Microsoft Basic Display Driver. Once enabling the driver for either GPU the system immediately crashes and the system can only

OK, if that is so, have you tried updating the GPU drivers? If possible, I'd suggest testing on another device that's compatible with it.

Since you said that there were errors on the Memtest86 screen, if you have multiple RAM sticks, remove one and test the other (run any app where you notice that the system crashes on one stick) and see if it crashes, if it doesn't, test the other stick on the same slot of the stick which was first tested. If it doesn't crash, test the former stick on the 2nd slot, if no crashes, test the latter one. Repeat the same if you have more than 2 RAM stick slots.

If both sticks crash on one of the slots, it means that the slot is damaged and needs replacement. If one of the sticks crashes on multiple slots, the stick is bad and needs replacement.

EDIT: If I may ask, have you set any XMP for your RAM in BIOS? If yes, set it back to default and test again.

Prime95 tests the RAM and CPU, not the GPU.

Note Run Furmark for around 30 minutes



Warning Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if temperatures rise too high
When finished, make a photo/screenshot of Furmark and post it.

In Furmark you can find a tool called 'GPU-Z' (if you want to install GPU-Z is up to you), when GPU-Z is open click on the 'Sensors' tab, on this tab you can monitor

• the frequency of the GPU,
• the GPU memory clock,
• the temperature,
• the power,
• the load on the GPU,
• Etc.

I would like you to make a screenshot of GPU-Z after you have either cancelled Furmark for any reason or Furmark is finished, post this screenshot in your next reply with the result of Furmark.

 

Software crashes on GPU's fault

So, whenever I try to do sth minimaly complex, like pluging a node socket my software, Blender, crashes instantly. When I check for stats in my task manager, my GPU has just spiked. Idk whether my GPU causes the crashing
or it tries (always so unsuccessfully) to save the crashing. One thing is 4 sure: GPU spikes.

It doesn't happen too often in other softwares.
