Windows 10: GPU issue on XPS 15 9560 (code45)

I've recently noticed a weird issue affecting my XPS 15 9560, the Nvidia GPU 1050 disappeared from my device manager!


So after digging a bit and enabling 'show hidden devices' in device manager, the 1050 is shown grayed out with the error:

"This hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45)"


Thinking this might have been a driver issue I tried to install the newest Nvidia drivers and it said it could not detect any compatible card.


Then I thought this might be a windows issue and it might need a fresh install, so I booted a live ubuntu image and ran

update-pciids

and

lspci | grep -i --color 'vga'

which only shows intel's integrated vga.


HWinfo64 does not recognize the card.


One thing I've noticed lately was that the battery was running out a lot faster, like the 1050 was always on and continuously drawing battery (battery health is still 96%).


Also did a windows troubleshoot with this error: https://i.imgur.com/6VVH80E.png, of course did sfc/dism/chkdsk to no avail, system seems healthy.

Followed guides online to fix the troubleshoot error but my services were all already enabled and running and registry was fine.


No BSOD or any weird error popping up, the laptop is running fine, just the dGPU not being recognized.


So right now I'm out of things to try beside calling this a hardware failure

Anyone has any idea?

SD card not being recognized on new XPS 15 9560 Laptop.

SD card not being recognized on new XPS 15 9560 Laptop when I put the card in the SD Drive slot. It does run on Windows 10 Home. Is this a Hardware or Software issue? Is this a Widows 10 operating issue? Can it be fixed?

 

Dell XPS 15 9560: missing drag lock for touchpad

System: Dell XPS 15 9560, WIndows 10 Home

When using the touchpad, I like to be able to perform multiple drag operations, without having to double-tap to invoke the drag operation each time I lift my finger. For the last 15+ years there has always been an option called "drag lock", that allows
the drag to operate as follows:

• The drag operation is invoked by double-tapping on a draggable object
• The object is moved by sliding one's finger
• If one's finger is lifted, the drag operation will NOT terminate, and more drag operations are possible
• The drag operation is terminated by another double-tap

I simply can't find an option for drag lock in the Windows 10 touchpad settings. Please PLEASE tell me there is some way to enable this feature!

My XPS 15 9560 never goes to sleep by itself


Hi

Something prevents my XPS 15 9560 from going to sleep by itself. I've run the energy troubleshooter and it has no remarks. The energy program is set to put the computer to sleep after 30 minutes but nothing happens. If I don't turn off the computer myself it'll never turn off. Anyone who has an idea of how to solve this issue? Thanks!
