Windows 10: GPU & Ram problem

I have RTX 4070 TI, Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 64GB DDR5 ram, Windows 11 23h2 will not install but 24h2 will if forced and keeps giving the install error 0x800f081f but all the files are there, nothing is wrong with my GPU or ram as it clearly runs fine without the update, previously I was on Windows Insider and did a work around to remove this which I did. So I dont know whats going on but I get no crashes or any problems without the 23h or 24h update, it runs like normal. Is it just me or is this a worldwide issue and I should wait until 25h to update?

Windows update: one PCIe slot and one GPU kaput

Memtest86 is good, but no RAM tester can detect all possible RAM failures. I would suggest that you adopt a slow and careful step-by-step approach to troubleshooting this clear hardware issue. I would suggest that you strip the PC to the bare minimum. Unplug all external devices except monitor, mouse, and keyboard. You've already removed the GPU, so remove all but one RAM stick (and try other RAM sticks too). Remove unnecessary PCIe cards (extra USB ports cards, WiFi cards, for example). If it fails in as stripped-down version as you can achieve then I'd look at the PSU, and then the motherboard. This isn't a software issue though.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

To RAM or not to RAM...

Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin
