Grant permanent admin access to folders or programs?

Is it possible to Grant permanent administrator access to folders and programs for a standard user account so that the password doesn't have to be entered each time?

    :)

    Entire Users folder is shared.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The folder was shared and it's likely that a created homegroup initiated that. Un-sharing the folder solved that part.

The reason the standard account had access to the administrators user folder was because I must have granted permanent permission to this folder as an admin and it was something that I overlooked.

  3. Assined User Folder names

Puzzle continued: Log on with a Local Account with password. In File Explorer the Personal Folder can be opened with no additional password, as expected. However, what is not expected or desired, is that the Personal Folder of the Local Administrative
Account can also be opened with no password required.

-> When you log on under an admin account then you can in principle access any file stored in any profile folder. This is due to the nature of an admin account. The owner of the folder can temporarily prevent it like so:

    • Seize ownership of his profile folder (or any subfolder).
    • Restrict access to himself.
When you are logged on under an admin account then you can undo his actions like so:

    • Seize ownership of his profile folder (or subfolders).
    • Grant access rights to everyone.
You will, of course, leave traces of your actions but the owner of that profile folder might not notice.

Administrators must have the ability to change access permissions of any resource. If they did not have it then some resources might become permanently inaccessible. This happens frequently when people encrypt their files without being fully
aware of what they are doing.
