Windows 10: Graphics Card

I recently replaced my hard drive, and installed Windows 10. Then I added a more robust graphics card to use with apps that require enhanced graphics.
To make a long story short, my new graphics card worked for about a minute then the screen went black and went to sleep due to lack of signal input.

I disconnected HDMI cable and plugged it into the card that came with my PC HP desktop, and got the same thing... no input to monitor. Further troubleshooting confirms that

1 new graphics card has power its fan runs

2 new card has to be physically removed from the machine to get it to even reconize the old card

3 once new card is removed, PC gets signal from the old card and display works fine


Sounds like a possible conflict between the new and old graphics cards but im not sure. Anyone have any ideas or what i can do about it? Any help is appreciated

Your computer makes a noise or beeps from your internal speaker because it failed to detect the graphics card. What we can suggest is for you to try cleaning your graphics card with a pencil eraser. Here are the steps below:

• Turn your computer off.
• Pull out your video/graphics card.
• Rubbed the cold contacts with soft pencil eraser.
• Connect your video/graphics card back to the computer.

Kindly note that this is just a temporary fix. If the case still continues, I suggest that you contact your graphics card's manufacturer.

The error might occur if the Graphic card is cannot update the driver automatically.

I suggest you to update the graphic card manually by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
• Expand Display Driver from the list.
• Right click on the Graphic driver and select
  update driver software.

Also, can download the latest version of the graphic card from the manufacturer website.
