    so after i set up this thing so that the computer locks at a specific time, im just getting my taskbar, a grey rectangle, and my background.

    i have tried running explorer.exe and that did not help.

    Desktop wallpaper for new users

    Hi Alaa,

    Setting default users lets you specify the wallpaper on user's desktops and prevents other users from changing the image or its presentation. You can check these steps on how to set wallpapers from all users:

    • Type run on the search bar and press Enter.
    • On the window, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
    • Locate and click Administrative Templates.
    • Select Desktop > Desktop > Desktop Wallpaper.
    • Tick Enabled, and name your wallpaper.
    • Select Apply and click OK.

    After performing the steps above, you may restart your PC.

    Stubborn grey rectangle covering up the upper left of the desktop


    After I tried adding a virtual desktop, a strange gray rectangle has appeared on my desktop (both Desktop 1 and Desktop 2 I might add). This semi translucent rectangle covers up the desktop icons so that I cannot click on them.

    I've tried to close all apps, but it won't go away. Any idea what this is all about?

    EDIT: Never mind. It disappeared with a reboot.
