Windows 10: Great piece of kit HDMI-->HDMI + Audio

Hi folks

This piece of kit works brilliantly about 5 X 3 X 2 CM so a tiny device made of solid metal and easy to hide at back of computer avoiding loads of messy wires.

Input HDMI, output HDMI + Audio (analog) and SPDIF (optical). HDMI up to 4K UHD, the DAC's in the device are excellent if you just want to use the L/R analog audio. Works great when you don't want to have monitor on and just want to listen to audio. Switchable audio passthru / 2ch. Needs 5V but comes with USB and connector so just plug into USB port or mobile phone charger.

(HDMI 1.4 -- good enough for about 99% of services currently).

Not sure of the brand name -- Chinese unbranded probably - manual all in Chinese but it's obvious enough how it works. Cost me 15 EUR so well worth the price.

HDMI audio

I enjoy watching TV shows on my PC through windows 10 and an HDMI cable. It was working great until the past couple of weeks. The video is fine, but there is no audio. I have not changed settings. Is RealTek the speakers in the PC? Shouldn't the HDMI be
listed somewhere. Please respond.

 

PC to TV through HDMI

Hi,

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

HDMI Audio in NOT working

Please try the methods below and check if it works.

Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check.

Let’s first check if “HDMI Output” is selected as the default device.

Follow these steps:

• Click Start and select
  Control Panel.
• On the right hand side of the screen, under
  View by: click the drop-down icon and select Large icons.
• Click Sound.
• If you do not have the
  HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the
  playback window and select Show Disabled Device and
  Show Disconnected Device.
• If the HDMI Output option appears, right-click
  HDMI Output and select Default
  Device.

Now the audio must be playing on HDMI. If the issue persist, follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to update the HDMI device drivers. Refer the below link to check how to update drivers in Windows 10.

If the issue persist, try to update the recent HDMI drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue is resolved.
