Windows 10: Groove Music - copy music library to a second PC with same sort order by "Date Added"

Hi

I'm trying to copy my music library to my second PC and I'm used to sort my music by the "Date added" order. Now I want groove music on my second PC to show me the same sorting order as on the original PC.

I've tried copying the library with robocopy to preserve all the metadata, but this still results in a completely random sort order. So my guess is that groove music just takes the date it added the album to the library and stores that information somewhere inside it's app folder.

So how can I achieve this? Where is that information stored?

Groove music - i'm losing my mind! (indexing problem - probably)


Groove Music - the default music app in windows 10 is behaving a bit weird lately.
So, the symptoms are as follows: when I add a series of mp3s in my folder, which is set as default music location in Groove Music, the files aren't being added. Granted, since forever this app behaved in a manner that you had to wait a few seconds, perhaps a minute, to add the new files - the refresh of the library wasn't instant. but now it just doesn't refresh the library anymore. Or it does, after a few hours.

So I investigated a bit and found out that I have to manually rebuild indexes (using this option: http://www.winbeta.org/sites/default...?itok=AXFIURoi), in order to get the new music into groove music. This seems absurd, since it never happened before.

What are your suggestions? What's going on, what's wrong?

 

Groove Music


My Groove music suddenly stopped playing files when I doubleclick on them (groove music launches but is blank). I can use a different player but I have to click into that player as Groove Music is my default. I am reorganizing all of my music (tens of thousands of files) and this won't work for me.
Any suggestions?
I have Windows 10 on a PC.
I found an online troubleshooting that suggesting I delete temporary files and reset Internet explorer which I did and which has not helped.

Adding iTunes playlist(s) to Groove Music

So I have done those steps...it's added all my music again, as before, but the playlists that have synced are the ones I created in Groove myself.

I added a few songs to the Flamenco playlist from the Groove library, which Groove synced from iTunes. All my music is there in the Groove music library except the iTunes playlists.

Your patience and determination astounds me.
