Windows 10: Groove Music displaying artist image instead of blurred cover art

Hi I've noticed using Groove that some songs use the blurred cover art on the main display while others use a picture of the artist. Would like to know if there's any option to only display the blurred cover art

Album Art is blurred in Groove Music

If the album art is appearing blurred in Groove Music's mini view, there are several potential fixes you can try to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Ensure High-Quality Album Art

Ensure that the album art files themselves are of high quality. If the original images are low-resolution, they will appear blurred when displayed.

Find High-Quality Album Art:

Search for high-resolution versions of your album art online.

Save these images to your computer.

Replace Existing Album Art:

Open Groove Music.

Go to My Music.

Right-click on the album with the blurred art and select Edit Info.

Click on the album art and choose Replace.

Select the high-quality image you saved earlier.

Step 2: Clear Groove Music Cache

Clearing the cache can help resolve issues with blurred album art.

Close Groove Music:

Make sure Groove Music is closed.

Delete Cache Files:

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.

Type

and press Enter.

Delete all files in this folder.

Restart Groove Music:

Open Groove Music and check if the album art is still blurred.

Step 3: Update Groove Music

Ensure that you are using the latest version of Groove Music.

Open Microsoft Store:

Go to the Microsoft Store app.

Check for Updates:

Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Downloads and updates.

Click on Get updates to install any available updates for Groove Music.

Step 4: Reinstall Groove Music

Reinstalling Groove Music can sometimes resolve persistent issues.

Uninstall Groove Music:

Press Win + I to open Settings.

Go to Apps > Apps & features.

Find Groove Music, click on it, and select Uninstall.

Reinstall Groove Music:

Open the Microsoft Store.

Search for Groove Music and install it again.

Step 5: Adjust Display Settings

Sometimes display scaling settings can cause images to appear blurred.

Open Display Settings:

Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.

Adjust Scaling:

Under Scale and layout, try different scaling options (e.g., 100%, 125%, 150%) to see if it affects the clarity of the album art.

Groove Music - How to add art to album or artist

How To Change Album Art

• Open up Groove Music.
• Click on an album
• Somewhere on the top, you will find 3 dots placed horizontally. Click on it.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Then click the box with the pencil on the corner.
• Done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you can't find an album and it says "Unknown Album" Follow these steps

• Right click on a song.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Fill in the boxes (They will say Unknown Artist or Unknown Album)
• Then you will see the songs in an album (If you press Album on the side of Groove Music.
• Done.

 

"Display artist art - Set the Now Playing artist art as my wallpaper" Not Working

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

If the artist art for Now Playing doesn’t populate under
Artists in My Music of Groove Music
app, it will not change the desktop background wallpaper even though the option is enabled.

The art that displays depends on what’s in the source music folder. If there is no art in the music folder, nothing will show on the desktop.

If there is art in the music folder and the desktop background doesn’t change, you may try enabling it again.

Enable ‘Set Now Playing artist as my wallpaper’.

• Open Groove Music app and click on the Settings icon.
  
• Enable ‘Set Now Playing artist art as my wallpaper’ under
  Display artist art.
