Windows 10: Groove music doesn't recognize Artist, Album and Cover

Hi,


Since I changed the folder of my music, Groove hasn't been able to recognize the albums and artists.


I have tried:

- Deleting the groove app and redownloading it.

- Checking security of the folders and mp3 files.

And probably a few other things I can't remember.


All of my songs have been edited using MP3tag and all parameters were filled.

If you maybe need anything else I would like to hear it.

Groove Music - How to add art to album or artist

How To Change Album Art

• Open up Groove Music.
• Click on an album
• Somewhere on the top, you will find 3 dots placed horizontally. Click on it.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Then click the box with the pencil on the corner.
• Done.

• Right click on a song.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Fill in the boxes (They will say Unknown Artist or Unknown Album)
• Then you will see the songs in an album (If you press Album on the side of Groove Music.
• Done.

I solved it by doing the following! I'm not sure which step cracked the problem.

• Set indexing to index the content of my music files by right clicking on the top level folder, setting the option and applying to all files and sub-folders
• Rebuilt the index via the Control Panel Indexing options
• Deleted the folders watched in Groove
• Deleted the Groove database at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_<random>\LocalState\Database
• Started Groove
• Reassigned the folders to watch

All songs now appear with the right artist & album but some album art was missing in Groove and Media Player despite being displayed correctly in iTunes. I manually updated the missing album art in Media Player and Groove then synchronised to match the Media Player album art.

 

Album Artwork and Artist Artwork in Groove Music

Groove Music doesn't recognize some of the music I've uploaded from OneDrive and hasn't given it the appropriate album artwork or artist artwork. Most of these are well known artists and albums which are in the Windows Store (i.e. Dean Martin, Adele, etc.)
so I'm not sure why it isn't recognizing them. I've also made sure the genre, year, etc all match the information in the Store app but Groove still doesn't recognize...

Is there a way to manually add album artwork in Groove?
