Windows 10: group by and sort by - combine in one step, like win xp

I know there are times when one might want to group by one thing, say mod time, and sort differently, say by name within the groups.

But 99% of the time I want both to be the same, especially for mod time.

I'm tired of having to set both of these. In win xp they were locked together so I could change the group by and it would also change the sort by.

Is there a way in win 10 to do this in one step?

I am telling you that the browser is simply following the css code provided by facebook.

whatever code is given to ios or android browsers, I don't care. edge is doing exactly what the website has requested.

I have no issues to copy a selection of text on other websites. doesn't have to be the whole text. you don't seem to know how to use the browser?

Facebook is the one blocking text selection on the page.

they use a css property "user-select:none" which disables text selection.

You mean File explorer? Press shift.

Sort by type, press shift then sort by date for example.

Is that what you mean?

 

In windows xp, there was no group by, only show in groups.

If with groups on (in xp) I then clicked on the column heading, "date modified" it would be the same as in windows 10 where I have to do 2 things, group by date modified and sort by date modified.

Granted, win 10 (and I think this behavior started in win 7) allows more flexibility, but I now have to do 2 things instead of just one.

I was hoping there was a way to do the 2 in one step.

An analogy would be say, a volume control that let you change just the left or right channel individually (this would be the windows 10 way) or have a setting whereby changing the volume would "gang" together both left and right with a volume change in one adjustment.

I mostly want to change the 2 together. In particular, I want to click on a column heading and have both the group by and sort by change to the column header I clicked on.
