    Group policy anti virus update

    Hello all,

All my PC have group policy set to warn about updates but never download them automatically.
I noticed that Windows Defender anti virus definitions are also considered as 'updates' and all my PCs are notifying of AV updates daily.

I was wondering if there is a way to tell Windows to go ahead and update the Antivirus definitions automatically while still notifying for any other available update.

Any ideas? I can see some update options for Windows Defender in the group policy, I am wondering which one has priority - the Windows Update policy or the Windows Defender one.

    Thanks
    Tony

    :)

  2. Turn Off - Windows Defender Firewall

    Please check

If you are in an organization, Group policy may turn it back on.

Also if you device is connected to a network. Network policy settings might turn it back on.

Anti-virus can also cause this problem.

  3. how to enable antivirus function, or windows defender in windows 10?

I would like to enable the anti-virus function in windows 10 (defender), but there was a message indicating that "This application is turned off by group policy - to allow this application to run, contact
your security administrator to enable the program via group policy". I believe an unwanted so-called anti-virus program was being installed on my pc without my consent, or even my knowledge at all. How can I pinpoint the location of this program and uninstall
it and once again enable windows defender, please?
